FAQs
What happens in an emergency?
In the unlikely event of an emergency, we will contact you immediately to discuss the situation. If we are unable to make contact and urgent veterinary attention is required, we will take your pet to your nominated veterinary practice or the nearest one, dependent on circumstances.
Are you insured?
Yes. Paws on the Prowl is fully insured, including key cover.
will i be charged if i cancel?
You will only be charged for cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice, according to our cancellation policy. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to judge on a case-by-case basis.
WHY solo walks?
Safety is of extreme importance to us here at Paws on the Prowl!
Not only are solo walks perfect for adapting to each dog’s unique energy levels and exercise requirements, but by sticking to solo walks (or duos from the same household), we are able to avoid any potentially dangerous situations that may arise from the unpredictable nature of group walks. Dogs’ temperaments can be fickle, and conflicts can arise without warning, so we want to do our best to minimise these risks. If preferred, socialisation is still possible, as we are bound to encounter other dogs and people when we’re out and about, but by limiting our numbers we can offer a higher level of control and vigilance.
Solo walks are also ideal for nervous and anxious pups, who don’t do well with other dogs. We provide them with a stress-free environment and undivided attention to make sure that every outing is a positive, enriching experience.
Can you administer my pet’s medication?
Subject to prior written agreement and instruction, we are able to administer certain medication.
do i need to be home when you arrive?
No. We can keep a spare key in a secure location to enable us to enter your home without the need for you to be there. If you are not comfortable giving away a key, other options can be discussed during consultation.
Can i just have occasional walks/visits?
Absolutely. Providing we have availability, we are happy to offer ad-hoc services and we are very flexible when it comes to booking.
Do you walk dogs off lead?
We tailor all of our walks to each individual dog’s needs. If your dog has good recall and you would prefer them to have off-lead time, then we can absolutely accommodate this. However, we will never let them off the lead until we have taken at least a few walks for them to get used to us and build up trust.
do you offer boarding services?
We do not currently have the facilities to accommodate this.
Do you work weekends and bank holidays?
We can offer weekend and bank holiday slots to regular clients, however there may be an additional charge.
